Plastiflex group, one of the world biggest producers of plastic flexible tubes and hoses with headquarters in Belgium and production facilities in China, Europe, Mexico and USA is planning a further expansion of the production capacity for their health care division.
The group has during the previous year’s already significantly increased the Health Care production at their Dongguan, China facility and will now further accelerate investment in order to cope with the increased demand of tubes for CPAP devices and respiratory tubes – these are used by the hospitals IC units.
The Plastiflex Board of Directors had already decided back in 2019 to invest in a new Health Care manufacturing room in Tijuana, Mexico in order to anticipate the launch of new business projects in 2022 but because of the recent Covid-19 related surge in demand, it has now been decided to accelerate this project
Plastiflex Health Care Vice President Ronan Horseele comments as follows: “With this decision to start up production in Tijuana, we want to better serve the growing demand from our US based customers and at the same time further increase the security of supply to our key customers. We originally planned to start the project in Q4 of 2020 to be ready by mid-2021 but because of the Covid-19 issue, we decided to accelerate the opening of the production plant”
Planning for the project is now to finalize construction of the clean room by Q3 2020 and start up production immediately after.
Plastiflex Group is specialized in the production of plastic flexible tubes and injection molded components for a number of markets such as Floor care, White Goods, Pool service, General Industry and Health Care. Their Health Care customers are both distributors and OEM’s who use the tubes for their ventilation or sleeping quality improvement devices.
